The seminars, workshops, training courses and lectures regularly offered by the Central Gender Equality Officer aim to increase and strengthen the skills of participants with regard to gender equality issues. For female professors:

More and more media inquiries, more and more social media channels: Many members of HHU are being asked about current topics and are in the public eye. A four-hour camera training course is therefore offered for professional appearances. Two participants at a time learn or professionalize interview techniques and are prepared for dealing with editors and public appearances.

As a professor, you are faced with various demands on a daily basis. Particularly with regard to the compatibility of professional work and family matters, individual challenges arise in a wide variety of areas.
The Equal Opportunities Officer, in cooperation with the Personnel Development Department (Administration of the Procedure), offers coaching to strengthen your skills and support you in your career development. This coaching program is a one-to-one advisory setting tailored to individual needs. Here you can systematically analyse issues from your day-to-day work and develop strategies to optimize organizational processes in both a private and professional context.

The Central Equal Opportunities Officer offers female doctoral candidates and postdocs at HHU 1:1 coaching sessions with a professional coach. The coaching supports the participants in identifying their own career goals and in developing strategies to overcome possible challenges on their career path.

Are you studying a mathematics or science subject? Then take part in our excursion to the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in Bonn in the winter semester 2024/25.

For FLINTA:

In a safe space, FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter*, non-binary*, trans and agender people) have the opportunity to learn various self-defense and self-assertion techniques. The techniques are mainly from the Krav Maga and Street Combatives areas. Striking techniques, grip and choke release, kicks, ground fighting and much more are taught.
