Countless major events due to be held in North Rhine-Westphalia have had to be cancelled – or at least postponed – because of the coronavirus pandemic. The lectures with the Austrian actor Klaus Maria Brandauer planned for 19 March and 22 April as part of this year’s Heinrich Heine Guest Professorship unfortunately could not take place either.
New dates in 2021 will be announced for the postponed events as soon as possible.
The Heinrich Heine Guest Professorship is a gift from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia to HHU on the occasion of its naming in 1988. Prior to Klaus Maria Brandauer, Helmut Schmidt, Wolf Biermann, Siegfried Lenz, Joschka Fischer, Antje Vollmer, Karl Cardinal Lehmann, Ulrich Wickert and Joachim Gauck previously acted as Heinrich Heine Guest Professors.
