Welcome to the HHU!
Despite the current situation, the university would like to offer all first semester students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with HHU – their new academic home. This year, HHU therefore invites all first semester students to attend its virtual orientation weeks, which will run from 12 October 2020 to 8 November 2020.
An information fair awaits in the virtual building of the Student Services Center (SSC) at which the departments and student committees as well as various institutions, student initiatives and university associations will present themselves. From 10 am until 12 noon on three days (19 October 2020, 26 October 2020 and 2 November 2020), students will moreover have the opportunity to contact important institutions via live chat, obtain answers to their questions, and learn lots of useful and worthwhile information both for their studies and life outside of their studies.
What to expect:
In Hall 1, you will find representatives from HHU’s Students’ Union (AStA), academic departments and student committees. Obtain all important information and dates for the introductory events of the student body and individual departments.
Hall 2 houses the information bazaar where all of HHU’s facilities that are important to students are presented. You will find the Student Services Center (SSC), International Office, Centre for Information and Media Technology (ZIM) and University and State Library (ULB) here.
In Hall 3, which will only be open on 26–30 October 2020, you can learn about life outside of your studies. University sports clubs and the university radio station will introduce themselves here, along with other student associations and initiatives.
At 10 am on 2 November 2020, Professor Anja Steinbeck, (President of the HHU) and Professor Dr. Christoph J. Börner (Vice-President for Quality in Studies and Human Resource Management) will give an official welcome address at the virtual information point.
