Permit for special parking spaces for pregnant women

Pregnant employees and students at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (HHU) may apply for a special parking space on campus from the sixth month of pregnancy. A temporary parking permit will be issued on provision of proof of pregnancy.

To reduce the distances pregnant employees and students have to cover from the car park to the office, library or seminar room, they may now park in unused disabled parking spaces on campus. On submission of an informal written application including the vehicle registration certificate and pregnancy record booklet, the Disability Office will issue employees and students in the sixth month of pregnancy or later with a temporary parking permit valid until the scheduled date of birth.

This offer, which was established as a collaboration project between the Central Equal Opportunities Officer and the Disability Office, is unique at German universities.
