Fund for the individual funding of (young) female scientists

PublicationFund, MobilityFund and TrainingFund

Please note that we are presently unable to accept applications for the funds as the project is currently completed and in the evaluation phase. We will inform you about further developments on the homepage and via the GSB newsletter.

As part of the Female Professors ProgrammeIII at HHU, the Central Equal Opportunities Officer has set up further support measures in gender equality work with the PublicationFund, the MobilityFund and the TrainingFund.

Female doctoral candidates, post‐docs, habilitation candidates and junior professors (with the exception of the Faculty of Medicine) can now apply for funding for publication costs (e.B. peer-reviewed journals, anthologies and dissertations/habilitations) as well as travel expenses and participation fees for career-related further training as well as scientific congress and conference participation in the central Equal Opportunities Office.

In times of open-access, placing publications in high-impact journals is no longer just a question of scientific achievement, but sometimes also of financial possibilities. The publication of one's own dissertation in a specialized publishing house usually has to be financed by the authors themselves. The central Equal Opportunity Officer has therefore set up the publication costs fund for female scientists as part of the Female Professors Program III.

Target group:
Female doctoral and post-doctoral scientists whose publication costs cannot be covered by their own faculty or other grants/funding programs are eligible.

The following are subsidized:

  • Publication costs such as publishing fees or editing costs, which must be borne independently by the author in the context of publications (e.B. peer-review journal articles, anthology contributions and dissertations/habilitations)
  • Proofreading costs for articles that were not written in the author's own first language
  • Editing costs

Amount of funding:
Costs will be covered up to an amount of 1000,00€. In case of multiple authorship, the respective share will be calculated.

Application deadline:
Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis and will be processed and distributed in the order in which they are received. The application cannot be submitted retroactively, but must be received by the Equal Opportunities Office prior to publication. There is no legal entitlement to funding.

Application form:
If you are interested, send an informal e-mail briefly outlining what you need the funds for. You will then receive all further information and the application form, which you should complete and return to us.
