UNIVERSEH - European University Alliance

UNIVERSEH - European University Alliance

European Space University for Earth and Humanity

UNIVERSEH, the European Space University for Earth and Humanity, brings together five universities and unites over 130,000 students and 13,000 staff, together with about 60 project partners. Focusing on the space sector, the alliance is pursuing comprehensive goals. Mobility and multilingualism will be improved (through a joint platform and support services for short-term mobility, new partnerships, a diversified offer of language courses, and student tandems). New joint interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral curricula are being established (involving different stakeholders, collecting information on current and future needs) and new pedagogical models are being developed (exploring new innovative opportunities, personal learning networks, hybrid and virtual learning, student-to-student learning). Furthermore, we aim to build an entrepreneurial European university that will overcome existing national barriers.

In addition to the funding provided by the EU initiative, UNIVERSEH is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the 2nd round (2021-2023) of the national accompanying programme for German universities.

The priorities and project activities of the accompanying national programme include:

  • Regional establishment of the network into the society and establishment of a strong business-university network
  • Establishment of a cross-national & cross-institutional infrastructures for data transfer (EWP)
  • Development of integrative multilingualism concepts
  • Provision of student support services improving students' personal employability
  • Creation of long-term, sustainable partnerships between students, business & service institutions (matching platform)
