The UNIVERSEH Team at Heinrich Heine University cordially invites you to apply for its first Summer School taking place from June 19th to June 23rd 2023 on campus in Düsseldorf.
Who can participate?
Open to all study levels and disciplines. No pre-knowledge necessary.
Where does the Summer School take place?
One week in Düsseldorf (19. - 23. June 2023 and funded by Erasmus+) followed by a two-week online and asynchronous project.

Online-courses for Summer School participants
Who? Summer School 2023 participants

Where? Düsseldorf, Germany + online
The aim of this interactive training session is to the raise students’ awareness about the challenges of interculturality. UNIVERSEH students will benefit from the expertise of a professional intercultural trainer who will provide a comprehensive intercultural competence training and share her experience about the business rules or communication patterns in Germany. This workshop will be delivered as a virtual training session.
The course takes place online. Shortly before the course starts all registered students will receive all the necessary information by the teacher.
Intensive German A1.1 in two weeks

When? June 5th - 16th 2023, 16:30 – 18:00 h (CET)

The aim of the course is that students
- can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type
- can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has
- can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
The course will take place online weekday from 16:30 - 18:00 (synchronous part) and include also an asynchronous part). Shortly before the course starts all registered students will receive all the necessary information by the teacher.

- Workshops will be held by experts from HHU, Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès and Kunstakadamie Düsseldorf
- Workshops will be interactive and focus will be on project based learning
- Students will work together in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams
- Supervised online-phase where students work on their own project
- Language of the School is English
- German course for beginners (before the Summer School - optional and encouraged)
- 3 ECTS (Recognition of the ECTS depends on home university's policies)
