Establishment of a pregnancy safe lab

Pregant or breastfeeding woman are often excluded from practical work in the chemical sciences, but this is not a given - the establishment of pregnancy safe labs is possible and needed to ensure gender equality.

Air quality measurements to ensure no risk is posed to the pregnant woman or the unborn child.

We have now converted one of our laboratories into a CMR-substances free room and taken all necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environement. The picture shows the air quality control measurements that finalise the conversion of the laboratory in a pregnancy safe laboratory.
