Re-registration

You can re-register for the winter semester 24/25 from 1 July to 15 August 2024. The semester fee is €298.05. Please transfer the fee to the following bank account:

You can also pay the semester fee by debit card only at the Student Services Centre (credit card payment not possible).

Re-registration FAQs

Students

Please transfer the amount shown under “Payments” in the E-Student-Services portal within the re-registration period (see above). You will be re-registered for the next semester as soon as we have received your payment.  Your HHU card will then automatically be renewed for another semester.

Your re-registration is probably not possible due to a lock or other obstacle preventing it. You can find information on the re-registration lock and what you need to do in order to be re-registered under “My studies” in the E-Student-Services portal.

In the case of a leave of absence due to ill health or a period of study abroad, you only have to pay a reduced semester fee. In the case of all other reasons for a leave of absence, the full fee will be charged. You can find the exact amount under “Payments” in the E-Student-Services portal.

No. If you have completed your study programme in the current semester, please do not re-register. Only re-register if you would like to start a further study programme.

⚠️ Once you are re-registered, the semester fee cannot be refunded after the start of the lecture period. In the event that you gain admission to another university, an exception can be made.

If you find out in the coming semester that you have not passed the final exam in this semester, we will re-enrol you for the coming semester.

Re-registration is still possible on payment of a late payment fee of €10. In the event that you do not re-register, an announcement of de-registration will be generated in the E-Student-Services portal on the 7th working day after the re-registration deadline.

If you cannot be re-registered due to non-payment of the required semester fee or due to a re-registration lock, you will be de-registered in the third week of lectures with the reason given as “Failure to re-register”. Withdrawal of the de-registration and subsequent re-registration for the next semester is then only possible within one month. After that, the de-registration is legally binding.

You can apply for a change of subject/study programme irrespective of your re-registration status. However, the change can only be realised once you have paid the semester fee and are thus re-registered.

Cross-registered students

As a regular cross-registered student (Cross-registered students), please upload the certificate of enrolment for the next semester from your first university under “My studies” -> “Locks” in the E-Student-Services portal within the re-registration period (see above).

Please note: If you cannot be re-registered due to missing documents, you will be de-registered in the third week of lectures with the reason given as “Failure to re-register”. Withdrawal of the de-registration and subsequent re-registration for the next semester is then only possible within one month. After that, the de-registration is legally binding.

As a cross-registered student for individual classes (Cross-registered students), please upload your repeat application (German only) and the certificate of enrolment for the next semester from your first university under “My studies” -> “Locks” in the E-Student-Services portal before the start of the lecture period.

The cross-registered student fee of €100 must also be paid. You do not have to pay this fee if you are enrolled at the Robert Schumann School of Music and Media.

Auditing Doctoral Researchers

Please transfer the fee of €50 before the start of the lecture period. You will be re-registered for the next semester as soon as we have received your payment.

Your re-registration is probably not possible due to a lock or other obstacle preventing it. You can find information on the re-registration lock and what you need to do in order to be re-registered under “My studies” in the E-Student-Services portal.

Guest Students

Please transfer the fee of €100 before the start of the lecture period. You will be re-registered for the next semester as soon as we have received your payment. The fee is waived for participants of continuing education programmes.

If you want to change to a different subject, please mail us at:

German course participants

Please transfer the amount shown under “Payments” in the E-Student-Services portal and then upload the participation certificate for the German course from the General Student’s Committee (AStA), the Student Academy or Student Services in the portal under “My studies” -> “Locks” as soon as possible. Following successful re-registration for the next semester, your HHU card will automatically be renewed for another semester.
