You come to us – Open day at Heinrich Heine University
University open day: Welcome!
Heinrich Heine University cordially invites pupils and teachers from the upper school to visit. Get an idea of the University of Düsseldorf - with various offers:
Information lecture: "Studying at the HHU"
The Heinrich Heine University's Student Service Centre offers groups of school pupils an approximately one-hour information lecture during lecture times on our orientation programmes, study options and the application and enrolment process, including a Q&A session. We are also happy to welcome large groups!
Lecture visits: What's it like to study?
Attending lectures (except for medicine, dentistry, psychology, musicology and the Master's programmes) is a good way to get a taste of what it's like to study. However, this offer can only be taken up during the lecture periods, i.e. from the beginning of April to mid-July (summer semester) or from mid-October to the beginning of February (winter semester). The exact times can be found in the published dates and deadlines. We recommend that you do not choose the last two weeks of the lecture period as your visit dates, as experience has shown that many lectures are cancelled due to upcoming exams.
Further down on the page (blue box) you will find an overview of all lectures that your students can attend in the current semester. It is not necessary to register with the individual lecturers!
Campus rally:
After a lunch break, your students are invited to explore the HHU campus with our Actionbound app: Ralley (also for non-participants in talent scouting!)
Library visits: orientation in the "forest of books"!
A day on campus can be rounded off with a visit to the University and State Library. The date for a guided tour (possible all year round except from October to mid-November) can be arranged individually: Tel: +49 211 81-12900 or by .
Alternatively, the ULB can be requested for its presentation on the new "ULB-Kompass für die Schule", an e-learning programme that helps pupils to find literature: How do I find a topic for my research paper? How can I use search engines specifically? And how can I recognise a reputable website?
We have a special event format for individual students:
