You can access and print out the above mentioned documents via the student protal whenever you want.

If your card was not delivered because your address was wrong, the card will be returned to the HHU. Your card can be activated by accessing the identity management portal (IDM: https://www.zim.hhu.de/ankommen-im-studium/aktivierung-der-hhu-card.html). At first, your HHU Card needs to be loaded with cash or charged with ventopay. This can be done at one of the charging stations (Aufladeterminal) on the campus. If you are using ventopay, you will have to enter your wallet ID (Geldbörsen ID), which can be found on the backside of your HHU Card. Whenever you make a payment, the amount due will be automatically deducted from your HHU Card account.

After your account is charged, you can use your card to pay at the cafeterias and canteens of the Studierendenwerk or to make payments at the ULB. The cafeterias, canteens and the library have card readers at their disposal which are able to communicate with the chip inside your HHU Card.

Should you experience any difficulties related to the process of charging your HHU Card with ventopay, please contact providing your matriculation number and your wallet ID.

Your HHU Card will only be charged correctly if you entered the wallet ID (Geldbörsen ID), which is printed on the backside of your HHU Card, in ventopay.  Should you experience any problems, please contact providing your matriculation number and your wallet ID.

Please fill out this notice of loss. You will be charged 10 Euro for your second card.

The HHU Card is printed with your titel, name, surname, date of birth and an ID number as well as an expiration date. These information (except the validity status) will not be stored electronically. The chip inside your HHU Card does not include any personal data. The card only includes various reference codes which are related to the different functions of the HHU Card.

When do I have to replace my MensaCard?

You can keep using your old MensaCard for the time being. However, we advise you to use up the remaining credit on your card. Following a transitional period, your MensaCard will expire at the end of March 2021. From that time on, please dispose of your MensaCard and only use your HHU Card. Any remaining credit on your MensaCard can be transferred to your HHU Card at Cafe Uno. The transfer also works if your MensaCard as already expired.

Very old MensaCards with a deposit of 5,00 Euro can be replaced at the MensaCard office if the serial number of the card is in our system.

After your exmatriculation has been processed, the HHU Card will be blocked automatically. Remaining balances can be cashed out at the facilities of the student union ("Studierendenwerk). After that, you can dispose of your card.
