Information on the Processing of Personal Data for the UNIVERSEH Newsletter

 

With this data protection notice, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf (hereinafter “HHU”) fulfills its information obligations regarding the above-mentioned processing of personal data in accordance with Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter “GDPR”).

2. Information on the Processed Personal Data for the UNIVERSEH Stakeholder Newsletter and Purposes of Processing

As part of organizing the UNIVERSEH Stakeholder Newsletter, various personal data of participants are processed.

Processing of participants’ personal data:

  1. When you register for the UNIVERSEH Stakeholder Newsletter, we collect your personal data for the organization of the newsletter.
    During registration, we ask for and store your first name, last name, email address, university, and involvement in UNIVERSEH. This data is collected in order to send you the UNIVERSEH Stakeholder Newsletter.
  2. For statistical purposes and to meet our reporting obligations to the European Commission, we evaluate your data in anonymized form.

 

3. Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data

The collection of personal data for the stated purposes is based on the explicit or implied consent of the data subjects in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

By clicking the “submit” button, you implicitly express your consent to the transmission and processing of your data.

 

4. Transfer of Personal Data

Your personal data processed by HHU for the purposes mentioned under Section 2 will remain with UNIVERSEH and will be processed solely for those purposes.

Please note that IT departments or external service providers may have access to this data as part of maintenance or support work.

 

5. Duration of Processing / Data Deletion

Your personal data will be deleted as soon as you withdraw your consent.

 

6. Your Rights as a Data Subject

As a data subject, you may exercise the rights granted to you by the GDPR at any time, including:

  • Right of access – to know whether and which data concerning you are being processed (Art. 15 GDPR). Restrictions according to § 12 DSG NRW apply.
  • Right to rectification – to request correction or completion of your data (Art. 16 GDPR).
  • Right to erasure – to request deletion of your data in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR. Restrictions according to § 10 DSG NRW apply.
  • Right to restriction of processing – in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR.
  • Right to object – to the future processing of your data (Art. 21 GDPR).
  • Right to withdraw consent – at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
