Division 6 – Facility Management

A campus – larger than 50 soccer fields with more than 10,000 rooms – has to be organized and managed. Around 150 employees in the Facility Management Division take care of planned and unplanned measures, the operation of technical systems, repairs and maintenance as well as traffic safety, event management and space planning; to name just a few of the fields of activity. An overview shows the construction measures and provides information about mobility and sustainability of D6.

Technical Facility Management ensures the operation of HHU's buildings and technical facilities. In case of orders, malfunctions and emergencies around the workplace and on campus, the work order centre can be contacted. In addition to operations, buildings and technical facilities must be newly constructed or repeatedly adapted to meet specific research and teaching requirements. The Planning and Construction realizes these plannable measures, mostly in cooperation with the Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW.

Infrastructural Facility Management is also multi-faceted: the department here is responsible for property, space and event management (over 90,000 events per year such as seminars, lectures, internships and others). It also takes care of security and cleanness on campus, oversees the service point, distributes mail, handles transportation and much more.
