Required language skills and certificates for doctoral studies

In most faculties, a good command of either English or German is a prerequisite for admission to doctoral studies. German language skills are not always a prerequisite, since many faculties also allow you to write your dissertation in English. Please check the required language skills of your faculty in advance. When you are admitted to doctoral studies, you need to submit proof of your language skills to the dean's office of your faculty.
