Euro keys

All accessible toilets at HHU are fitted with Euro key lock systems. Lifts and access platforms are also operated via Euro keys.

The Euro key fits motorway toilet facilities and specially marked public toilets in many cities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and several other European countries.

You can order Euro keys from the CBF organisation (Club Behinderter und ihrer Freunde – “club for people with disabilities and their allies”) in Darmstadt. To prevent misuse, a key will only be issued to those who submit a copy of their disabled person’s pass with their order. Individuals with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis are requested to submit a corresponding medical certificate.
