Accommodation

Living in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf and the surrounding area offer many options for a new home. However, the situation on the residential market is difficult, so it is advisable to start looking for accommodation well in advance. In addition to the halls of residence, you can also look on the general property market.

The costs vary widely depending on the location and size of the apartment/house. However, you should expect to pay at least €500 per month for a smaller apartment. Most landlords also expect you to pay a deposit amounting to 2 – 3 months’ rent at the start of the rental period. If the apartment is handed back to the landlord at the end of the rental contract without any damage, the deposit will be returned to the tenant.
