Accommodation

The city of Düsseldorf and its suburbs offer many nice places to live, but the housing situation is tight. When preparing your stay in Düsseldorf, make sure to look for accommodation well in advance, ideally before travelling to Germany. Especially when coming from abroad, it may be easier to first look for short-term accommodation. To facilitate your search for a permanent apartment, we can also help you find a single room in the university halls for the first 3 months. However, these are booked out very quickly, so we cannot guarantee that a room will be available. If you are interested in this offer, please register for our Welcome Service for International Researchers and contact us as soon as possible.

The following links direct to platforms for hostels, furnished or unfurnished apartments and for flat shares. In flat shares, you usually have your own room and share the kitchen and bathroom with your flat mates.

In addition, you will find information on different districts in Düsseldorf and their location in respect to the university.

To further assist you in your flat hunt, please look at the glossary for common German phrases in apartment ads.
