The Central Equal Opportunities Officer actively promotes diversity of perspectives and equal opportunities. Together with her team, she advises and supports employees and female students at HHU on issues such as career advancement and discrimination.

Orange the World
#16Days from November 25 to December 10

Since 1991, the UN campaign “Orange the World” has been raising awareness of violence against women and girls: from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25 to December 10, Human Rights Day. Every year, the campaign calls for attention to be drawn to violence and for solutions to be promoted.

New Contact Office for cases of 
discrimination and abuse of power

The Contact Office for cases of discrimination and abuse of power was established in the middle of the year: Dr Laura Schlachzig from the Contact Office advises all HHU members, irrespective of whether they have been experienced such cases themselves, have observed an incident or are unsure how to interpret certain behaviour.

Launch of legal advice center
for victims of abuse of power

Thanks to the tireless efforts of the spokespersons for the State Conference of Equal Opportunities Officers at Universities and University Hospitals in North Rhine-Westphalia (LaKof NRW), a central external legal advice center has been set up for victims of abuse of power and for internal university departments dealing with this issue.
