Summer School "Exploring Space: Intercultural Cooperation, Business and Communication"

The UNIVERSEH team at the University of Toulouse cordially invites you to apply for their Summer School in Space, Business & Communication, taking place from 31 August to 10 September 2026, an intensive two-week programme designed for third-year Bachelor and first-year Master students from all UNIVERSEH partner universities. This Summer School offers a unique opportunity to explore the space sector from complementary perspectives that go beyond science and engineering. The programme combines insights into the economic and entrepreneurial dimensions of space activities with the development of key intercultural and communication skills required in international environments.
The European University for Earth and Humanity (UNIVERSEH), is a European University Alliance funded by the European Commission. Starting from November 2020 UNIVERSEH is an Alliance of now 7 partner universities, spread all over Europe, that aims to create new higher education interactive experiences for the university community, teachers and students, and for the benefit of society as a whole.

The Summer School in Space, Business and Communication is a two-week intensive programme designed for third-year Bachelor's and first-year Master's students. It combines academic learning with practical experiences to provide participants with a multidisciplinary understanding of the space sector.
The programme consists of two complementary modules. The Space Business module, delivered by TBS Education, explores the European space industry, its key stakeholders, business challenges, and future opportunities. Through workshops, case studies, and industry visits, including Airbus, students gain valuable insights into innovation, entrepreneurship, and business practices in the space sector.
The Intercultural Cooperation and Scientific Communication module, led by Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès, focuses on effective collaboration in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments. Students develop skills in intercultural communication, negotiation, conflict management, and scientific outreach, enabling them to communicate complex space-related topics to a wide range of audiences.
The Summer School welcomes Bachelor students from all disciplines at Heinrich Heine University who are currently in their 5th or 6th semester, as well as students in the first year of a Master’s programme. The programme is designed for beginners, and no previous knowledge of the space sector is expected.
By the end of the programme, participants will have developed a solid understanding of the structure and dynamics of the space business ecosystem and its key stakeholders. They will be able to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, communicate scientific and technical concepts to diverse audiences, and navigate intercultural collaboration challenges. In addition, participants will gain a broader perspective on the societal, economic, and international dimensions of the space sector, enabling them to better understand its opportunities, challenges, and impact on society.
UNIVERSEH will cover the costs of round-trip travel between Düsseldorf and Toulouse. Accommodation in Toulouse will be arranged and paid for by UNIVERSEH.
