Bachelor courses with unrestricted admission subjects
For prospective students with German citizenship and/or a German university entrance qualification:
After submitting an online application via the application and enrolment portal, you can go through the online enrolment process once you have been admitted. Provided you meet the enrolment requirements (university entrance qualification, proof of health insurance, payment of social security contributions), you are guaranteed a place in subjects with no admission restrictions.
You can submit the online enrolment in admission-free Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral subjects for the winter semester 2024/25 in the application and enrolment portal from 16 July 2024.
For prospective students with German citizenship and a foreign university entrance qualification:
Bachelor's degree:
German citizens with a university entrance qualification obtained abroad must upload the following documents when enrolling:
- A certificate from the district government regarding the recognition of foreign certificates. As it often takes several months for this certificate to be issued, we advise you to apply for it as early as possible.
- Your foreign certificates in the original language and the corresponding translation (except for English and French language certificates).
Master's:
For the Master's programme you must:
- Only upload the foreign certificates in the original language and the corresponding translation (except for English and French certificates).

Generally, all Master's study programmes (except Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Industrial Pharmacy, Molecular Biomedicine, Psychology und Translational Neuroscience) offered at the HHU have open admission, but require a proof of particular aptitude ("Nachweis der besonderen Eignung"), because they are based on a completed university degree.

Attention:
For studies in more than one programme (starting only in the winter term) belonging to the Philosopy Faculty (core and complementary subjects) there are also subject variations including a local admission restriction („Orts-NC“). For such combinations you will have to apply online for the core or complementary subject with the admission restriction. Subsequently, in case you were granted admission to this NC study programme, you can directly proceed to the enrolemnt for your second study programme with open admission.
