This course is primarily designed to help participants gain greater confidence in using the English language more fluently and effectively – both in academic and informal contexts.
Course contents:
Since every learning group is different, we will not blindly follow a standard curriculum. Instead the actual needs and preferences of course participants will determine the exact contents. The instructor strongly encourages the participants to make use of this opportunity and interactively co-create the currculum with him. Having said that, here are some suggestions:
- practicing speaking skills in conversations, role plays and debates (may include (in)formal everyday conversations, such as socializing / smalltalk)
- working on pronunciation
- revising of points of grammar as needed
- expanding learners' vocabulary for both general as academic situations
- presentation practice, incl. feedback from instructor and peers
- teacher’s personalized feedback and tips for every course member
This course will take place online (only). Registered participants will receive all necessary details in the weekend before the first session.
Language Tandem Programme (HHU Language Center)
Would you like to improve your language skills without any pressure?
In a relaxed atmosphere you will have the opportunity to learn languages by chatting with native speakers on a Language Tandem!
What is a Language Tandem?
In a language tandem, two participants teach each other their native language in a spontaneous way and flexible time. We can help you to find language tandem partners. Both participants should have basic knowledge of the foreign language and both languages should be practiced equally (e.g., between 45 minutes and one hour per language).
A language tandem fits into any calendar and moreover is a lot of fun! It is an opportunity to put your language skills into practice as well as to meet new people and find out more about their country and culture.
How can I sign up for the Language Programme organized by the HHU Language Center?
You can simply register yourself and they will find a tandem partner for you
