HHU offers free German and English courses for researchers and their family members!

You are new at HHU and in Germany? You have plenty of questions about living and working here? Make use of our "Good to Know" information sessions and our networking events!

True to our motto "Active Campus",  we encourage researchers at HHU to take advantage of our various university sports activities. Doctoral students can even take part in most of them for free (except for horse-riding, tennis or sailing). Employees pay a contribution of 60 € per year.

You love singing or playing music? Join the Orchestra or the University Choir. Here students and staff at HHU make music together!

Whether before, during or after completing a doctoral thesis, it is always good to meet like-minded people and share your experiences - all the better in a casual setting! Join PhD Meetup!
