Welcoming Ceremony for First-Year Students 2023

Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf would like to invite its new students to a welcome event at 10.30 a.m. on 9 October 2023.

At an official reception in lecture theatre 3A, the university management and the board of the General Student’s Committee (AStA) will welcome new students and provide information about studying and everyday life at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. The welcoming address will also be shown as a live stream in lecture theatres 3B-D and 2A-D in parallel. 

At the information bazaar, which will be held in the foyers of buildings 22.01 and 23.01 after the official welcome event, all central University institutions will be on hand to provide first-year students with a wide range of information and advice.

Information will also be provided about cultural and leisure activities: In addition to information about starting their studies, new students will also have the opportunity to gain an initial impression of life on campus and in the city of Düsseldorf. Numerous cultural institutions from the city will also be showcasing their offerings. 

Further introductory events will be organised by student body institutions and the individual subjects before the official welcome event. Students will be able to obtain important information about their studies, subjects and timetables in the course of these events. You can find all the details here (German only).
