The M.A. programme in History can follow to a B.A. qualification in History and adresses students interested in scientific research.

Entry/Admission requirements

The M.A. programme in History is to be studied in four semesters. Prerequisite for the admission to the M.A. programme in History is an assessment of eligibility ("Nachweis der besonderen Eignung") which is regularly issued if an B.A. programme in History has been successfully completed with a sufficient overall grade. 

Programme content

In the M.A. programme in History the whole range of historical studies can be pursued while it is possible to concentrate on preferred epochs, methods or topics. The language of instruction is German.

Programme objectives/Career prospects

The M.A. programme in History prepares for a wide variety of possible jobs in media, education, information processing and public or private institutions. Imparting practical competence with a project seminar is an integrated part of the study programme.
