Programme content
The BA minor 'Communication and Media Studies' is a social scientific study programme, focusing on the social preconditions, consequences, and the meaning of mass media and public communication. Amongst others, the students will become familiarised with media systems, journalism, public relations, political communication, media entertainment, media exposure as well as media effects. The relevance of this study programme lies in the importance of communication and media in our society today. The programme also provides training in advanced social science research methodology and fosters cooperation skills through project-oriented study.
Programme structure
The standard period of study is six semesters.
Programme objectives/Career prospects
The programme prepares for occupational fields such as advertisement, public relations, media studies, market research, public opinion research, strategic communication and communication consulting as well as journalism.
