The Law / Intellectual Property / Medical Law degree programme is only suitable for applicants who understand complex German texts. Irrespective of this fact you will find the description of the programme below.
The optional advanced Masters in Intellectual Property Law at the Faculty of Law at Heinrich Heine University is geared to qualified graduates from the legal sciences, both those at the start of their career and those already working as legal practitioners. The programme can be completed in 3 or 4 semesters and combined with work commitments.
The programme is internationally accredited and is completed with the title Master of Laws .
Studieneinstieg/Zugangsvoraussetzungen
Students must have completed a relevant German or foreign exam, have professional experience and, if applicable, also have above-average tutorial grades. Relevant doctorates are welcome.
Professional experience can be substantiated through internships, law clerkships or similar.
The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 25. Participants are selected by the course and exam board.
Organisation:
Generally weekend blocks (Fridays 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. / Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Course fees:
EUR 8,000 (part scholarships based on academic criteria)
Studieninhalte
The programme teaches the relevant rules of national, European and international intellectual property law, academic knowledge, practical skills and methodologies. Well-known lecturers who work as judges, at authorities, as lawyers and academics ensure a combination of theory and professional practice that is unique in Germany.
The curriculum covers the following areas: brand, design, copyright, patent, utility model, employee invention, antitrust, competition and royalties law.

It is possible to acquire the theoretical knowledge to become a specialist lawyer in intellectual property law.
